Loox ‑ Visual Product Reviews

Loox Reviews Experts for Shopify Stores

Loox reviews are built around photos and video. The app asks buyers for pictures and clips by email, QR code or a discount, shows them in widgets designed for mobile, and syncs reviews to the Shop app, Meta Shops, Google Shopping and TikTok Shop. It also runs customer referrals, and Loox Studio turns reviews into social posts.

Few merchants hire for the install itself. They hire when the widget looks stuck on top of the theme, when review history has to come across from another reviews app, or when the referral widget on the Thank you page needs building. A theme switch is the other trigger, because Loox widgets can drop off after one.

Count the Loox badge holders on shopexperts in October 2026 and you get 14: 3 agencies and 11 freelancers, based in Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Bosnia and Herzegovina. With freelancers outnumbering agencies almost four to one, expect one person doing the work rather than an account team. Pick two profiles below and send both the same short brief.

What a Loox reviews expert sets up and fixes

Paid Loox work starts where the defaults stop fitting the store, and that point usually arrives with the theme.

Widgets that belong to the theme. On Online Store 2.0 themes, Loox widgets go in as app blocks from the theme editor; vintage themes need code. An expert places the review widget on product pages, star ratings on collection pages and reviews on the home page, then adjusts spacing and type until they read as part of the design rather than an add-on.

Requests that bring photos back. Collection runs on emails, QR codes and discounts. The skilled part is choosing when the request goes out, what the photo incentive is, and how the form behaves on a phone.

Review imports. Bringing review history in from a previous reviews app, with photos, videos and star averages landing on the right products.

Referrals. Setting up the referral programme and the post-purchase referrals widget, which sits on Shopify's Thank you and Order status pages and is added through the checkout editor.

Loox integrations. Syncing reviews to and from the Shop app, sending them out to Google Shopping, Meta Shops and TikTok Shop, and connecting Shopify Flow, which the Loox listing names among the things it works with.

AI features. Switching on review stories, smart sorting, highlights, translations and AI replies, then deciding which ones earn a place on a product page. Most stores need two of them, not all five.

How much does a Loox reviews expert cost?

Each of the 14 Loox-badge holders puts a starting price on their profile, and the three tiles condense those figures (USD, checked October 2026). A starting price marks the floor of someone's pricing. It is a minimum, never a quote for your job.

Experts who start at bigger review projects

That is a tight band, and it fits the work. Styling a widget or putting it back after a theme switch is a small, well-defined job. Quotes climb when review history comes across with photos, when a vintage theme needs code instead of app blocks, or when referrals, syndication and the AI features are all in scope at once.

For quotes you can line up side by side, send your theme name and whether it is Online Store 2.0, your Loox plan, roughly how many reviews need importing, and a link to the product page that matters most. Describe the result you want, not just "set up Loox". The Loox subscription is separate and billed by order volume.

Before the Loox app goes live: five checks

The address changed. Loox's main site is now loox.app, and loox.io redirects there. The help centre still lives on help.loox.io. Briefs and bookmarks that point at the old domain aren't wrong, just dated, so make sure your expert is reading current documentation.

The legacy referrals widget is retired. Loox has deprecated its old post-purchase referrals widget. The current version is an app block for Shopify's newer Thank you and Order status pages. A store still showing the legacy widget needs it replaced, not restyled.

Referrals depend on your plan. The post-purchase referrals widget is only available on the Convert and Unlimited plans. The Free plan covers up to 500 orders, and paid plans are billed by order volume, so confirm which plan the store is on before anyone scopes referral work.

Theme switches drop widgets. Loox widgets can vanish after a theme change, and Loox's own fix is to re-integrate the app with the new theme. Any theme launch plan should include re-placing the review blocks and testing a product page on a phone before the new theme is published.

Know where it connects. Loox declares compatibility with Shopify's checkout and customer accounts, Shopify Flow, the admin and the Shop app. Loox also carries the Built for Shopify badge, which says the app meets Shopify's own standards; it says nothing about how well any one store is set up.

Questions about hiring for the Loox app

Can I set up Loox reviews on Shopify myself?

Yes, for a basic install: on an Online Store 2.0 theme you can drag the widgets in from the theme editor. Bring someone in when the widget won't match your theme without code, when review history needs importing, when the legacy referrals widget needs replacing, or when a new theme is about to launch and the review blocks have to move with it.

Should I hire a Loox agency or a freelancer?

For a defined job like widget styling or an import, a freelancer is usually enough, and most badge holders here are freelancers. Choose an agency when reviews are one part of a bigger project such as a redesign or a conversion programme. Loox runs a partner programme for agencies, but the shopexperts badge is not that status, so ask directly if it matters to you.

My photo review rate is low. What actually fixes it?

Usually one of three things. The incentive: make the reward for a photo visible in the request itself. The timing: ask after the customer has used the product, which for many categories is later than delivery day. The friction: the upload has to work in a few taps on a phone, because that is where the photos are. A good expert checks all three before touching widget design.

Why aren't my Loox star ratings showing in Google search?

Two different things get mixed up here. Loox can send reviews to Google Shopping, where ratings can appear on product listings. Stars in ordinary search results depend on the structured data on your product pages, which your theme and apps produce between them, and Google decides whether to show them. If they never appear, the next step is a markup check, explained in our guide to Shopify schema markup.

Can Loox show reviews in more than one language?

Loox lists translations among its AI features. For a store that sells in several languages, ask the expert to test a product page in each storefront language and decide whether translated reviews should appear there or stay in the original. Some brands prefer the original wording for authenticity, others want every shopper reading in their own language.

How do I import reviews into Loox without losing photos?

Run the import on a small batch first and check it on live product pages: star averages, photo and video thumbnails, and whether each review landed on the right product. Look first at products whose handles or SKUs changed since the reviews were written; they are the likeliest to land in the wrong place. Keep the old reviews app installed until the check passes, then remove it.
