Recurpay is a Shopify subscription app, listed since November 2021, for subscribe and save, prepaid plans and subscription boxes with 0% transaction fees. As of October 2026 the paid plans are Launch at $9 a month and Growth at $19, each with a 14-day free trial. The free plan only covers development stores. Recurpay on the App Store.
Switching the widget on takes an afternoon. Experts earn their fee on what follows: moving subscribers in from another app, building cancellation flows and retention bots, connecting Klaviyo or Shopify Flow, and custom work through the API and webhooks.
As of October 2026, 4 experts carry the Recurpay badge on shopexperts: 2 agencies and 2 freelancers, based in the United States, the United Kingdom, India and North Macedonia.
Open with your product list, the discount you plan to give subscribers and how many active subscribers you have today.
Recurpay is cheap to run, so the real cost of a bad setup is churn, not the app bill.
Plan structure. Recurpay handles recurring, subscribe and save, fixed, tiered, trial and one-time pricing on physical, digital, bundle and donation products. Only products inside a plan show the widget, so the plan map decides what shoppers can subscribe to.
Subscriber moves. Recurpay offers white-glove migration from other apps and keeps a migration guide in its help center. An expert audits the export first and watches the first renewal cycle after.
Boxes and bots. Growth adds Build a Box and bots that offer tiered discounts, gifts and swaps. Someone has to set the rules so a bot never gives away more than the margin allows.
Cancel-path design. Cancellation flows are a Growth feature. Writing the save offers, and deciding when to simply let a subscriber go, is retention strategy.
Widget styling. Colors, text and layout are editable, and Growth adds an AI and code editor. A theme customization expert makes the widget look native on an edited theme.
Messaging and automation. Klaviyo, Omnisend, Mailchimp, Shopify Flow, Zapier and Make are listed integrations. An email marketing expert turns subscription events into reminder and win-back flows.
Small launches. One product on subscribe and save with the default widget is a support-chat job. Recurpay lists 24/7 human support.
Recurpay setups go wrong in the plan logic and the first renewal, not the install. Hire for that.
Margin before discount. A good candidate asks for your product margins and shipping cost before suggesting a subscriber discount. One who opens with "15% off" has not done the math.
Their first-renewal checklist. Ask what they check when migrated subscribers renew for the first time. Listen for charge dates, prices, intervals and payment methods, checked on a sample before the full batch.
Launch or Growth. Ask which Growth features you actually need. An honest answer may be that Launch covers a simple program and the upgrade waits until you want cancellation flows, boxes or API access.
Development store first. Recurpay's free plan is limited to development stores, so a careful expert builds plans and the widget there at no cost before touching the live store.
Signs to move on. Hand-coding a widget that the app embed already places, a churn promise made before seeing your data, or no plan for testing failed-payment recovery.
Scope one piece first. Plans and widget on a development store plus a written cancellation flow. It shows how they think before you pay for a migration.
Three plans, no revenue share. As of October 2026 the listing shows Free at $0 for development stores only, Launch at $9 a month and Growth at $19 a month, billed in USD every 30 days. Every plan has a 0% transaction fee, Launch includes unlimited subscriptions, and no order or revenue caps are listed.
What Growth adds. Bots, email campaigns, Build a Box, the AI and code widget builder, cancellation flows, advanced analytics and forecasting, 20+ integrations, and full API and webhook access.
The widget depends on the app embed. In the dashboard, Settings, Widgets, Enable Widget opens the theme customizer, where the toggle switches it on. If it is missing on a product page, Recurpay's checks are: is the product in a plan, is the App Embed on, and is the browser cache clear.
Portal actions. Subscribers can skip, change items, pause, swap or cancel without contacting support. The listing names customer accounts and Shopify POS among the Shopify features it works with.
Payments and language. Shop Pay, PayPal and Stripe appear in the integration list, so confirm your gateway before a move. The listing language is English, and Recurpay's help center covers widget translations together with widget design.
All four profiles cover setup, and most can also write code, which matters once Growth's API and widget editor are in play.
All 4 list store setup and management: plans, widget and portal settings
3 of 4 list Shopify development, for webhooks, API work and widget code
2 agencies for team cover, 2 freelancers for a single point of contact
United States, United Kingdom, India and North Macedonia
Consulting, marketing, operations, design, AI and technical support each appear on one profile
German, Macedonian, Serbian and Spanish between them
Only on development stores. As of October 2026 a live store needs Launch at $9 a month or Growth at $19, each with a 14-day free trial. All plans list a 0% transaction fee, so the app cost stays flat as subscription revenue grows. Your payment gateway's own processing fees still apply.
Growth. It adds cancellation flows, retention bots, Build a Box, email campaigns, advanced analytics and forecasting, and full API and webhook access. Launch keeps the core features: prepaid plans, the widget, cart upsells, analytics, the customer portal and dunning.
Recurpay offers white-glove migration and keeps a migration guide in its help center. Before the move, export active subscriptions with prices, intervals and next charge dates. Afterwards, check a sample of renewals against that export and tell subscribers about their new portal before the first charge.
Not for a typical launch. Plans are built in the dashboard and the widget switches on through the app embed. You need one for custom widget code, webhooks feeding another system, or API-driven reporting. An app integration expert covers those links.
The products you want on subscription with margins, the intervals and discounts you have in mind, your current subscriber count and the app they sit in now, your payment gateway, and the email or SMS tool that will send reminders. Mention whether you need boxes or prepaid plans.
