Vitals Shopify App Configuration Experts

The Vitals Shopify app, listed as Vitals: Reviews, Bundles & 40+, packs more than 40 conversion tools into one subscription and one script. Product reviews, bundles and upsells, trust badges, countdown timers, a sticky add-to-cart, visitor recordings and heatmaps, email and push campaigns, and post-purchase offers all come in the same app.

Merchants hire help because each of those tools is meant to replace something already on the store. Someone has to decide which tools to switch on, place each widget properly in the theme, set up bundle discounts that still apply at checkout, import existing reviews and remove the single-purpose apps Vitals is meant to replace.

As of October 2026, 3 freelancers on shopexperts carry the Vitals badge, based in Canada, North Macedonia and Pakistan. All three list Shopify development, store setup and technical support. Compare them below, and send your theme name with a list of the apps you want Vitals to replace.

What a Vitals expert configures, and what they leave off

Most stores get more from Vitals by switching on less of it. Forty-odd tools in one app invite you to enable everything. A good expert starts from the job each tool replaces and leaves the rest alone.

Theme placement. Turning on the Vitals app embed, then placing widgets as app blocks or sections on Online Store 2.0 themes, so reviews, badges and timers sit where your layout needs them rather than where they land by default.

Bundles and offers. The Upsell Builder handles bundles, volume discounts, BOGO deals, gifts and one-click cart offers. Getting the discount logic to hold all the way to payment is most of this job.

Reviews. Importing reviews from your old setup, styling the widgets for photo and video reviews, and deciding where they appear on product pages.

After the order. The Thank you page upsell and the one-click post-purchase offer, each switched on in a different place.

Consolidation. Mapping each single-purpose app to the Vitals tool that replaces it, switching over, then uninstalling the old apps and checking nothing they added is still loading.

Recordings and AI. Visitor recordings and heatmaps to see where shoppers stall, plus Vitals AI and the Vitals MCP for querying store data from an AI assistant.

Bill checks. Vitals runs on one plan with usage meters on top. An expert who enables recordings or pop-ups for you should also tell you which meters they will push up.

Choosing a Vitals freelancer

All three badge holders are freelancers with the same three core categories, so the profiles alone will not separate them. Their answers to a few specific questions will.

Ask how they will stage changes. Vitals only runs on the published theme, so the usual habit of building on an unpublished copy and previewing it does not work here. Listen for a plan: off-peak changes, one tool at a time, a quick check after each.

Ask which tools they would switch off. If the answer is none, keep looking. The value in Vitals is replacing apps, not stacking more widgets onto the same page.

Ask how customers reach checkout. Skip-cart buttons, custom checkouts and emails that jump straight to checkout all affect whether Vitals discounts apply. An expert who asks about these before building bundles has fixed this before.

Ask what they will remove. Replacing five apps means uninstalling five apps and checking the theme afterwards. That clean-up should be in the quote, not an extra.

Start with a small paid audit: which Vitals tools are on, which other apps overlap them, how discounts flow to checkout, and what the meters are doing. Red flags: enabling every tool on day one, or building bundles without asking how your customers check out.

Vitals Shopify app setup: embed, theme and checkout rules

The app embed comes first. Nothing from Vitals appears until the Vitals app embed is enabled in the theme editor's App Embeds section. It only runs on the published theme, so after you publish a new theme the embed has to be switched on again.

Online Store 2.0 placement. On 2.0 themes such as Dawn, Vitals widgets can be moved as app blocks and sections in the theme editor. That is the clean way to position them, rather than editing theme code.

Standard checkout only. Vitals says all its upsell apps work with Shopify's standard checkout, and its own help centre lists custom checkouts among the setups where its discounts can't be applied.

Two post-purchase settings. The Thank you page upsell is added as a Vitals Post Purchase block on the Thank you page. The one-click post-purchase offer is separate: Vitals must be chosen as the post-purchase page app under Settings → Checkout. Setting up one does not switch on the other.

Default currency only after payment. The Thank you page upsell only works on orders placed in the store's default currency, and the one-click post-purchase offer is not compatible with multi-currency stores. A store selling in several currencies should put its main offers on the product page and in the cart, and treat post-purchase offers as a home-market extra.

Vitals projects these 3 freelancers take on

Vitals on Shopify: hiring and troubleshooting questions

Do I need a Vitals agency, or will a freelancer do?

For most stores a freelancer is enough, and all 3 badge holders here are freelancers. Vitals work is mostly settings, theme placement and discount logic, which one person can own end to end. An agency makes sense only when Vitals is one part of a wider redesign or conversion project, in which case start with the conversion and app integration services linked below.

Why do Vitals bundle discounts disappear at checkout?

Usually because the cart page was skipped. Vitals generates and injects upsell discounts on the way through the cart, so a skip-cart button, or an abandoned checkout email that links straight to checkout, bypasses it. A custom checkout does the same. Fix the route, not the discount: send customers through the cart, or accept that those orders will not get the bundle price.

Can I keep my old upsell app running alongside Vitals?

Not safely. Vitals warns that several upsell or cross-sell apps all trying to intercept the checkout button click causes a race condition, and the result is unpredictable discounts. Pick one tool for upsells and remove the other, including any code it left in the theme. An expert should confirm the old app is fully gone before testing Vitals offers.

Will Vitals make my store faster or slower?

Vitals pitches itself as one script in place of a stack of apps. Any speed gain depends on the replaced apps really leaving, including code they left in the theme, and on how many Vitals tools you switch on. Ask the expert to run the same mobile speed test on the same pages before the switch and after the clean-up. Our guide to apps that slow a store covers what to look for.

How does Vitals billing grow after the free trial?

Vitals has one plan with a 7-day free trial, plus six usage meters: revenue assists, conversion assists, visitor recordings, stored emails, pop-up captures and shipments tracked. Each starts free and adds charges as volume grows, so the bill can rise above the base price. Check the meters after your first busy month and switch off tools you are not using.

Does an expert earn anything for recommending Vitals?

Possibly. Vitals runs an affiliate programme open to Shopify experts, freelancers and agencies, with commission based on how many stores they refer each month. There doesn't appear to be a separate agency partner programme. Referral income is normal, but ask the question, especially if the expert is recommending that you move several apps onto Vitals at once.
