Taiga Shopify theme stores run on a design from Woolman, a theme studio in Jyväskylä, Finland, that is part of a Shopify Platinum Partner agency. As of October 2026 Woolman sells two themes on the Theme Store: Taiga at $500, with Bubbly, Meadow and Hehku presets, and Sampo at $390, with Mighty, Resonance and Carry. Woolman on the Theme Store.
Most paid work here is code. Woolman's own update guide says custom code changes don't transfer to a new version and have to be reapplied by hand, and custom Liquid, CSS and detailed product pages follow close behind.
If no profile below fits your Taiga or Sampo project, the theme customization and custom theme specialists linked at the end of this page take on Woolman theme work as well.
Note your theme, preset and version, plus any code someone has already added.
Woolman's themes come with plenty of settings. These jobs sit outside them.
Reapplying code after an update. Woolman's guide is plain: custom code changes, including ones made by a third-party or app developer, won't move to the updated version on their own. Someone carries them across on the new copy before you publish, which is routine theme customization work.
Custom Liquid sections. Taiga includes a Custom liquid section for small snippets. Anything bigger, such as a new product page layout, belongs with custom theme developers.
Brand fonts and CSS. Taiga's docs cover custom CSS inputs and adding custom fonts. Styling past the settings is a quick job for someone who uses those inputs rather than editing core files.
Detailed product pages. Taiga lists ingredients or nutritional information, size charts and a Price transparency section. Filling them the same way across a catalog takes a plan.
Mega menu builds. Taiga's docs cover mega menu setup and badges as menu items, and Sampo lists a mega menu with images and promos. A big catalog needs the menu mapped before anyone builds it.
Woolman's help comes first. Theme Store buyers are eligible for Woolman support, and its help pages carry full Taiga and Sampo docs plus a beta AI assistant. Settings questions belong there.
General Shopify skill covers most of this work. These questions show whether someone has actually read Woolman's docs.
Ask how they'd run your next update. The answer should match Woolman's guide: duplicate the live theme, add the update to the theme library, reapply custom code by hand, check home, product and collection pages, then publish.
Ask where custom styling will go. Taiga has custom CSS inputs. A developer who uses them, or keeps changes in clearly marked files, makes every later update cheaper.
Ask for a running change log. Code doesn't carry over between versions, so every edit needs writing down to be reapplied. Without a log you pay for the same work twice.
Ask which preset they'd start from. Bubbly, Meadow and Hehku are Taiga presets; Mighty, Resonance and Carry belong to Sampo. Starting from the closest one saves design hours.
Where a quote falls apart. Edits made straight on the live theme. No plan for the next update. Custom code proposed for something a Taiga section already does, such as a countdown timer or before/after slider.
One section, one log. Pay for a single custom section on a duplicate theme, plus the written list of changes you'd need to reapply after an update.
Taiga and Sampo, three presets each. Taiga costs $500 and Sampo $390 on the Theme Store as of October 2026, and the presets sell at their parent theme's price.
Release history. Taiga 8.1.0 came out on June 25, 2026. Sampo 5.0.0 dates from December 2, 2025.
Updates arrive as separate themes. An update is added to your theme library as its own theme and goes live only when you publish it. Custom code doesn't come with it, and Woolman notes some updates need extra steps.
Taiga's toolset. Before/after slider, image hotspots, lookbooks, ingredients or nutritional information, a size chart, stock counter, countdown timer, in-store pickup, mega menu and swatch filters.
Sampo's toolset. Quick buy, a sticky cart, pre-orders, sign in with Shop and combined listings for Shopify Plus stores, among 47 listed features. The Theme Store lists it as a one-time payment for a lifetime license.
Language packs. Both themes list EU translations in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
Who gets support. Woolman's support page ties eligibility to buying the theme on the Shopify Theme Store.
Docs depth. Taiga's documentation covers setup, theme settings, header and footer, close to 30 section guides including Custom liquid and an AI section, and advanced topics such as custom CSS inputs.
Pick the closest match before you contact anyone.
Custom edits reapplied on the new Taiga or Sampo version before publishing
A layout built for a page the included sections can't produce
Custom fonts and CSS added through Taiga's advanced inputs
Ingredients, size charts and price transparency filled across the catalog
Menu structure, images and badges mapped for a large catalog
Bubbly, Meadow, Mighty or another preset reshaped to your brand
Not automatically. Woolman's update guide says custom code changes, including those made by a third-party or app developer, won't transfer to the updated version. Duplicate your theme first, add the update to your theme library, reapply the code, check key pages and then publish.
$500 on the Theme Store as of October 2026, the same as its Bubbly, Meadow and Hehku presets. Sampo, Woolman's other theme, costs $390, and the Theme Store lists it as a one-time payment for a lifetime license. Developer time for customization comes on top.
Yes, for themes bought on the Shopify Theme Store. Its help pages include Taiga and Sampo documentation, a contact page and a beta AI assistant. Woolman is part of a Shopify Platinum Partner agency, but its support page doesn't present customization as part of theme support.
Not for setup. Taiga's docs walk through theme settings, the header, the footer and close to 30 sections. You need one for code beyond the Custom liquid section and CSS inputs, for carrying edits through updates, or for a product page layout the sections can't produce.
The theme and version, the preset you started from, collaborator access, a list of any code already added and who added it, and the apps you run. If you're mid-update, point them to both the live theme and the new copy in your theme library.
