Find the Best Shopify Experts in Egypt

Half the Shopify experts based in Egypt on shopexperts work alone. That changes how you hire: a small store can hand a defined job to a freelancer without paying for an agency's account management, while a larger one still has full teams to choose from.

As of October 2026, the directory lists 16 Shopify experts in Egypt, split evenly between 8 agencies and 8 freelancers, working from Cairo and Alexandria. Every one covers store setup and management, and most work in Arabic as well as English.

Expect the first questions from any of them to be about payments, because Shopify Payments isn't offered to Egyptian stores. Manual tax rates and Arabic content tend to come next.

Pick out the profiles below whose past stores look most like yours, and request a quote from two or three.

Eight agencies, eight freelancers: Egypt's even split

A genuine choice of model. The 16 experts based in Egypt split down the middle: 8 agencies, 8 freelancers. So the freelancer-versus-agency decision is yours to make on scope, not forced on you by who happens to be available.

When a freelancer is enough. A theme adjustment, a payment provider connection, a product import or a speed pass: single jobs with a clear finish line suit one person. You speak directly to whoever does the work, and nothing gets lost in a hand-off.

When an agency earns its fee. A brand launch, a migration with redirect mapping, or an Arabic and English build with campaigns attached needs several people at once. An agency coordinates them, and you pay for that coordination.

Cairo and Alexandria. Every profile names one of the two, so a merchant in either city can meet a shortlist in person before signing.

Arabic on most profiles, not all. Arabic is on 13 of the 16 profiles and English on every one. German and French appear twice each, Russian once. If Arabic copy is part of the job, confirm it rather than assume it.

What they list. Store setup and management is on every profile, Shopify development on 12 and marketing and growth on 11. Design, UX and branding has 7, copywriting and content 6, consulting and strategy 6, and finance, taxes and compliance 2.

Order of the listing. Egypt-based experts appear first; after them come Africa-facing specialists from abroad.

When to look past the Egypt-based profiles

For most Egyptian stores the local list covers the build. Two gaps justify a look at the experts further down the page.

Complicated tax work. Finance, taxes and compliance appears on only 2 of the 16 local profiles. Shopify leaves tax rates to the merchant in Egypt, so if your set-up is complex, with several product types or sales abroad, bring in a specialist for that piece even if a local expert does the build.

Strategy before a big decision. Six local profiles list consulting and strategy. If you're weighing a replatform, a catalogue restructure or a push into new markets, talk to one of them and to one consultant from the wider list before committing. Two vantage points catch more risks than one.

Everything else can stay local. Arabic content, shared working hours and payment provider set-up are where Egypt-based experts have the edge, and 12 of them list Shopify development for the build itself. One workable split: a local build, plus an outside specialist for the one piece the local list doesn't cover.

Check cover on freelance jobs. With 8 of the 16 working alone, ask any freelancer who covers for them if they're ill in launch week. Ask agencies the opposite question: who will do the work day to day.

What an Egyptian Shopify build has to solve first

Payment provider before platform features. Egyptian stores can't use Shopify Payments. Shopify's docs point them to a third-party payment provider instead, and the store prices in Egyptian pounds. A good expert asks about expected order volume and payout needs, shortlists providers that integrate with Shopify, and runs real test transactions, paid, refunded and failed, before anything goes live.

Tax is configured by hand. Egypt is a Manual Tax country in Shopify's help centre. Shopify Tax isn't available, and neither is Basic Tax. The merchant enters and maintains the rates, with a third-party tax app as the alternative. Ask your expert to write down what they entered and when it should next be reviewed.

An Arabic admin, a non-Arabic checkout. Staff can use the Shopify admin in Arabic. Checkout is different: Shopify doesn't support Arabic there. An Arabic storefront will therefore pass shoppers into a checkout in another language. Raise it at the brief stage, and ask your expert to demonstrate the complete customer journey before you approve the design.

Retail counters are a separate project. Shopify won't ship POS hardware to Egypt. Supported devices are a third-party retail purchase, so anyone selling in person should have the expert confirm each model before paying.

Questions Egyptian store owners ask about Shopify experts

How much do Shopify developers in Egypt charge?

Not enough Egypt-based profiles list a starting price yet for this page to show a range. The even split helps you test the market instead: ask one freelancer and one agency to price the same first phase at a fixed fee, then compare what each includes. Get hourly or retainer terms for changes after launch too, so the cheaper build doesn't become the dearer year.

Can a freelancer set up payments for an Egyptian store?

Yes, if they've done it before. Ask which third-party providers they have connected to Shopify stores, what broke, and how they tested refunds and failed payments. A freelancer who has done this twice will be quicker and cheaper than an agency doing it for the first time.

Can my staff manage the store in Arabic once it's built?

Yes. The Shopify admin supports Arabic, so day-to-day work, from adding products to processing returns, can happen in Arabic. Make Arabic handover notes part of the contract if your team prefers them, and ask which installed apps your staff will need to use in English.

Can an Egypt-based expert build a German or French version of my store?

Possibly, but the choice is narrow. German and French each appear on 2 of the 16 profiles, and Russian on 1. Ask those experts for a live store in the language you need, and have a native speaker read it before you hire. If none of them fits, the experts listed further down the page widen the field.

Can I hire an Egypt-based expert if my store is in another country?

Yes. All 16 list English, which makes a brief from abroad easy to send, and 13 also list Arabic, which helps if you sell to Arabic-speaking customers in other countries. Agree the contract currency before work starts, and ask for stores they've built for merchants in your market rather than general portfolio pieces.
