Cin7 Omni is Cin7's configurable inventory and order management system for brands selling through Shopify, marketplaces, wholesale and EDI trading partners. Its Shopify app syncs products, prices, stock and customer details. As of October 2026 the Cin7 Omni Plan is listed at $749 a month for 8 users and 5 ecommerce and app integrations, with a note that pricing may vary. Cin7 Omni on the Shopify App Store.
The real work sits in the integration settings: which branches feed which Shopify location, which stock figure customers see, how orders route and split between warehouses, and when status and tracking go back. A wrong choice shows up as overselling or orders parked at the wrong branch.
When no profile below fits, the inventory management and ERP integration specialists linked at the end of this page take on Cin7 Omni work as well.
Brief them with your branch list, Shopify locations, sales channels and monthly order count.
Installing the app takes minutes. These choices inside the Shopify integration dashboard take experience.
Branches feeding locations. With Map Warehouses on, each Shopify location draws stock from the branches you assign. Without it, the selected branches add up into one Primary Location. Map one branch to two locations and its stock shows in both, which is an easy way to oversell.
The number Shopify displays. Omni can send stock available, stock on hand, or figures that net off open sales orders or add incoming purchase orders by ETD window. A buffer or a maximum cap trims the result, but you can't use both together.
Routing and split shipments. The Branch Routing Grid assigns orders by country, state and shipping option. Split Orders divides one order across up to three branches; freight isn't split, and splitting doesn't work with Auto Dispatch.
Price tiers on Shopify. The tier you pick becomes the Shopify price, or the struck-through original price while a Cin7 special price runs. Wholesale buyers need their own tier and payment terms, a job for B2B and wholesale specialists.
Status and tracking going back. Status uploads can be limited to orders with a tracking code, and fulfillment emails reach customers only if notifications are on in Shopify too.
3PL and EDI partners. Cin7 positions Omni for 3PL and EDI workflows. Each trading partner adds mapping and testing beyond the Shopify connection, which ERP and backend integration developers handle.
When Cin7's onboarding is enough. One branch shipping every Shopify order, no EDI and one price list leave little for an outside specialist.
Omni rewards people who know its settings by name. Ask things only a hands-on user can answer.
Which stock level type would you choose? The right answer depends on your purchase orders and pre-orders, not a default. Someone who has never set an ETD window hasn't configured Omni for a Shopify store.
What happens when an order is edited? Added lines and quantity changes reach Omni, removed items drop to zero, and extra payments don't come across. A good candidate explains what that means for refunds and part shipments.
What runs on its own? Automatic order downloads run at least every two hours, with an optional daily run. Stock updates follow order downloads when Auto-Sync Stock is on. Ask how they cover sales from other channels in between.
Mistakes an Omni hand has seen. Weight units that differ between systems (Omni doesn't convert them), credit notes finished in Shopify instead of Omni, and settings changed without a full stock upload afterwards.
Start with an Omni settings review. A written pass through every Shopify setting in your account, with the value they recommend and why. It is short, cheap and shows how the person thinks.
When the bigger question is stock policy rather than settings, inventory management consultants fit better.
Two Cin7 products. In Cin7's May 2026 comparison, Cin7 Core is the turnkey option with streamlined, fast onboarding. Omni is the highly configurable one, with built-in support for 3PL and EDI workflows, several brands run from one account, and onboarding tailored to complex needs. Omni has its own Shopify App Store listing.
The plan. As of October 2026 the listing shows a single Cin7 Omni Plan at $749 a month, marked as variable: 8 users, 5 ecommerce and app integrations, flexible sales order volume and full customization. Cin7 bills any extra charges directly.
Other channels. The listing names Amazon, eBay, Etsy, QuickBooks and Xero, and syncs orders, prices, product details, variants and SKUs. It is in English only.
Product edits. Products can be downloaded from Shopify or uploaded to it. Once mapped, an upload overwrites Shopify's field data with Omni's, so agree where descriptions get edited.
Matching and holds. The Shopify SKU maps to Omni's Code field. A Shopify cancellation voids the matching Omni sales order, and fraud-flagged orders can be held with a 3PL status of Do Not Transfer.

Cin7 Omni work for a Shopify store splits into jobs you can quote separately.
Each Shopify integration setting checked, with a reason for every value
Branches assigned to Shopify locations without double-counted stock
Available, on hand or net of open orders, with a buffer or cap
Orders assigned by country, state and shipping option, splits tested
Trading partner documents mapped and tested next to Shopify orders
Bundles expanded into component lines or kept whole on download
As of October 2026 the Shopify App Store lists the Cin7 Omni Plan at $749 a month, marked "pricing may vary", with 8 users, 5 ecommerce and app integrations and flexible order volume. Cin7 bills extra charges itself. Setup help is separate: budget for branch mapping, routing rules, test orders and any EDI partners.
Stock goes from Omni to Shopify for mapped products. Omni sends the figure you choose from selected branches, either as one total at a Primary Location or branch by branch through Map Warehouses. Uploads follow order downloads when Auto-Sync Stock is on. Run Update All Stock after any change to branches or calculation settings.
Cin7's own comparison calls Core turnkey with fast onboarding and Omni highly configurable, with built-in 3PL and EDI support, several brands in one account and onboarding tailored to complex needs. Stores with EDI partners or orders split across many warehouses match Omni's description. Ask Cin7 to quote both before deciding.
Read, create, update and delete Omni data from other systems, such as sales orders and credit notes. Connections use an API username and key, GET results come in pages of 200 rows, and going over the rate limit returns a 429 error with a Retry-After header. Build retries in from the start.
Mostly. Added lines and quantity changes sync, removed items are set to zero, and totals and taxes update. Additional payments don't sync. A canceled Shopify order voids the matching Omni sales order whatever Auto Dispatch setting you use. Decide who handles refunds before launch.
