CP: Order Editing & Upsell

ClickPost Order Editing for Shopify: Edit Windows, Upsells and 3PL Sync

ClickPost Order Editing, listed as CP: Order Editing & Upsells, lets customers change variants, quantities and shipping addresses, add or swap items, or cancel after checkout, while you control the edit window and every edit is logged. It also shows upsells on the thank-you, order status and post-purchase pages. ClickPost launched it in January 2025 and it carries the Built for Shopify badge. ClickPost's App Store listing.

The setup decisions are operational: how long orders stay editable, what the warehouse sees in that time, which orders can't be canceled, and whether money goes back as a refund or store credit.

As of October 2026, 4 experts carry the CP: Order Editing & Upsell badge on shopexperts: 3 agencies and 1 freelancer, based in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and France.

Start by sharing your warehouse cutoff times and last month's count of address-change tickets.

ClickPost order editing jobs that touch operations

Turning on self-service edits is quick. Making them fit your warehouse, finance and support rules is the project.

Edit window against pick times. Orders are held while the window is open and released when it closes. The window can run 30 minutes, until fulfillment, or to a daily cutoff hour, and it has to match when your 3PL starts picking.

Warehouse sync. ClickPost lists more than 80 supported WMS and 3PL platforms, with custom integrations on paid plans. App integration experts handle the custom cases.

Edit permissions. Allowing only edits that raise order value, removing the cancel option, or blocking cancellation on orders with set tags, such as personalized or made-to-order items.

Refund rules. Automated refunds or store credit, decided with whoever owns finance, plus cancellation settings that meet EU withdrawal rules where you sell there.

Offers on order pages. One-click add-ons, free gifts, free shipping offers and AI recommendations on the thank-you, order status and post-purchase pages.

Events into your stack. Shopify Flow and Klaviyo are listed integrations. Someone has to decide which edits trigger internal alerts or customer emails, often alongside wider order management work.

Default settings may do. Under 500 orders a month, with in-house fulfillment, the free plan's defaults and ClickPost's demo store are a reasonable start.

What to test before you hire an order editing expert

Order editing sits between the customer, the warehouse and the books. A good candidate asks about all three before quoting.

They ask for your cutoffs first. Expect questions about when your 3PL pulls orders, weekend handling and same-day shipping promises, because the edit window and the hold depend on them.

They know what is undocumented. ClickPost's listing and product page don't explain how a price increase is collected or a decrease returned. A careful expert confirms that with ClickPost and tests it before launch.

They plan the test orders. Edits that add an item, swap a variant, change an address and cancel, each followed through to the 3PL and the refund or credit.

They have a view on cancellations. Offering cancel buttons cuts tickets but can lift cancellations. Listen for tag rules and edit-only options, not a blanket yes.

Be wary of anyone who would open edits "until fulfilled" with a 3PL that picks within the hour, or who has never connected an app to a WMS.

First engagement. A written edit policy, window, permissions and refund method, then setup on the free plan with a recorded test of each edit type.

Plans, holds and limits in ClickPost Order Editing

Plans follow order volume. As of October 2026 the free plan covers 25 edits a month, then $1 per edit, and is aimed at stores under 500 orders. The $49 plan (500 to 5,000 orders) adds unlimited edits and upsells, custom 3PL or WMS integration and 24/7 chat. The $129 plan (5,000 to 15,000) adds Slack support, and $199 (15,000 and up) adds a success manager. Paid plans have a 14-day trial.

Do the edit math. At 500 orders a month, a 5% edit rate uses the whole free allowance.

Holds. Orders sit on hold during the window and are released when it closes, so a long window delays every order, edited or not.

Where customers edit. From My Orders in customer accounts, and through the thank-you and order status pages.

Address checks. Google Maps validation flags bad shipping addresses.

Translations. The listing names 19 languages.

ClickPost order editing FAQs: cost, holds and cancellations

How much does ClickPost order editing cost?

As of October 2026 the app is free to install with 25 edits a month, then $1 per extra edit. Paid plans are $49, $129 and $199 a month, sized by monthly orders, with unlimited edits and upsells and a 14-day free trial. Billing is in USD every 30 days. Expert setup is quoted separately.

How long should customers be able to edit an order?

ClickPost says brands commonly use 30 to 60 minutes. The app also offers "until fulfilled" and daily cutoff hours. Pick the shortest window that still catches most address mistakes, because every order is held while it is open. A 3PL that picks within hours needs a short window.

Will order editing delay my fulfillment?

It can. Orders go on hold after checkout for the length of the edit window, and the hold lifts when the window closes. Check that your 3PL or WMS respects the hold before launch, then time the window against its pick schedule so same-day shipping promises still hold.

Can I stop customers canceling some orders?

Yes. You can remove the cancel option entirely, block cancellation on orders carrying specific tags, or allow only edits that increase the order value. Editing can also be switched off from the admin. Personalized and made-to-order products are the usual candidates for a cancellation block.

What should I send a ClickPost expert first?

Monthly orders, your 3PL or WMS and its cutoff times, the markets you ship to, your refund policy, and a sample of last month's edit and cancel tickets. Mention any products that can't change after purchase. That is enough to draft an edit policy and pick a plan.
