Commslayer Help for Shopify: Helpdesk and AI Agent Setup

Need help with Commslayer? Commslayer experts set up the unified inbox, AI agent, macros and routing for Shopify support teams, and move tickets over from your old helpdesk.

Built by Actuals Oy in Finland, the app routes email, live chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok into one queue, and staff refund, cancel or track an order from the ticket sidebar. As of October 2026, every plan has unlimited agents, the free plan covers 300 conversations a month, and paid plans cost $39 to $299. Full plan details are on Commslayer's App Store page.

Outside help pays for itself on the decisions the install leaves open: what the AI agent may do alone, when it hands over to a person, and which old tickets come across. As of October 2026, 5 experts carry the Commslayer badge on shopexperts: 2 agencies and 3 freelancers, based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Thailand.

Where a Commslayer specialist earns the fee

Connecting the store is quick. The jobs below are where support teams usually want someone who has done it before.

Staging the AI agent. Commslayer lets you run the agent against historical tickets, then move from drafts only, to approval before each reply or action, to full automation on chosen topics. An expert writes the guidance and escalation rules for each stage. The AI customer support specialists do this across helpdesks.

Order actions in the ticket. Refunds, cancellations and tracking run from the sidebar, and the app requests order editing and fulfillment access. Someone has to set which actions people and the AI may take.

Leaving your current helpdesk. Free importers move ticket history and contacts, plus tags, agents and saved replies on some platforms. Automations don't transfer and have to be rebuilt, which is most of a migration quote.

Ad comment rules. On Plus and above, AI moderation covers Instagram, Facebook and TikTok ad and post comments. Decide what gets hidden and what gets a reply before switching it on.

Subscription tickets. The listing names native subscription support and six subscription app integrations. Connecting yours and checking what agents can change from a ticket is app integration work.

Below the threshold. One channel, a few hundred conversations a month and no automations: the free plan and Commslayer's docs are enough.

Questions that separate Commslayer installers from support operators

Plenty of people can connect an inbox. Fewer have run a support queue. Five questions on the first call tell you which you are talking to.

How would you roll out the AI agent? A good answer starts with a test on past tickets, then draft-only or approval mode, with written escalation rules. Anyone who switches on full automation in week one hasn't watched an agent misread a refund request.

What doesn't survive the import? They should say that imported conversations arrive as read-only history and that automations need rebuilding, and plan to test before email moves over.

Which plan fits our volume? Expect a count of conversations and AI agent messages against the plan caps, not a guess.

Who gets refund rights? A careful operator asks which order actions stay with senior staff before giving them to the AI.

Answers that should end the call. No mention of escalation rules. A promise that old automations will copy across. No test window before the switch.

A trial worth paying for. One channel connected, five macros written from real tickets, and the agent run in draft-only mode on a week of past tickets, with a note on what it got wrong.

Commslayer limits and setup details to plan around

Caps are per conversation and per AI message. As of October 2026: Free covers 300 conversations, 300 AI agent messages and 300 AI drafts. Plus 800 ($39) and Plus 2,000 ($99) allow 800 and 2,000 conversations with double that in AI messages. Scale ($299) allows 6,000. Plans bill every 30 days, and the listing doesn't say what happens past a cap, so ask before launch.

Seats aren't the constraint. Unlimited agents and seats come with every plan, the free one included.

Features step up by plan. Paid plans add AI auto-labels, translation and summaries. Plus and above add social moderation and a checkout widget for self-serve order edits. Scale includes AI agent setup services and a direct Slack channel.

Imports run alongside your old tool. Commslayer says an import takes one hour to one day in the background, without touching your current helpdesk.

Broad data access. The app asks for customer, order, product, discount, store credit and metaobject data. Clear that with whoever owns privacy.

Translation coverage. The listing shows 47 languages, and auto-translation covers 40+.

Commslayer questions from Shopify support teams

How much does Commslayer cost?

As of October 2026, the free plan covers 300 conversations a month. Paid plans are $39 (800 conversations), $99 (2,000) and $299 (6,000), billed every 30 days, each with a 14-day trial. Agents are unlimited on all of them. An expert's setup fee is separate and depends mostly on how many automations need rebuilding.

Do I need a developer to set up Commslayer?

Not for channels, macros or the help center. A developer helps when you want custom work through the API or MCP access, the checkout order editing widget styled to match your store, or subscription and order data checked end to end before agents rely on it.

Can I bring my ticket history from another helpdesk?

Yes. Commslayer runs free importers for several helpdesks that move ticket history and contacts, plus tags, agents and saved replies depending on the platform. Imported conversations are read-only, and automations have to be rebuilt. Budget the expert time for that rebuild, not for the import itself.

Will the AI agent reply to customers without approval?

Only if you let it. You can keep it to drafts, require approval before each reply or action, or automate selected topics. It hands over when it can't answer, when a customer asks for a person or when your escalation rules apply, and staff see the full thread and order.

What should I send a Commslayer expert first?

Monthly conversations by channel, the helpdesk you use now, your ten most common ticket reasons and your refund and cancel policy. Add which staff may issue refunds today. That lets an expert pick a plan, scope the rebuild and draft the AI agent's first guidance.
