Flare: Delivery Date Picker

Flare Delivery Date Picker Help for Shopify: Cut-offs and Zones

Flare Delivery Date Picker lets Shopify customers choose a delivery or pickup date before they pay, while the store sets lead times, cut-off times, blocked dates and zones. On the entry plan the picker sits on the product page, cart or cart drawer. A picker inside checkout itself needs Shopify Plus and the Advanced plan, as of October 2026. View the Flare listing.

Experts come in when the delivery promise gets specific: perishable goods with a daily capacity, courier zones mixed with pickup slots, or a Plus store moving the picker into checkout and passing the chosen date to the warehouse.

As of October 2026, 5 experts carry the Flare badge on shopexperts: 3 agencies and 2 freelancers, based in Canada, India, the Netherlands, Panama and the United States.

Send them your zones, your cut-off time for each day and how many orders you can pack daily.

Scheduling jobs a Flare specialist takes off your plate

The picker appears within minutes of installing. The paid work is in rules that keep every promised date honest.

Cut-offs that match the packing bench. Turning real prep times, courier collection times and weekends into cut-off and lead-time rules, so an order at 3pm never gets a slot the team can't meet.

ZIP and postcode zones. Building delivery zones from code lists, each with its own lead time, minimum basket value or weight rule. Unlimited zones and methods arrive on Advanced.

Pickup windows per location. Store pickup with time slots, curbside or in-store options, and capacity limits so a busy slot closes once it fills.

Charging for premium dates. Delivery surcharges and shipping rates for next-day or weekend slots, also an Advanced feature.

Checkout placement on Plus. Moving the picker from the cart into checkout, then testing date validation so no order slips through undated.

Getting the date to fulfillment. Using the delivery and ship-date tags and order attributes in Shopify Flow, ShipStation or packing slips, so the team picks by delivery date rather than order date. Bigger routing questions belong with order management specialists.

Vendor onboarding may be enough. The $199 Precise plan includes one-on-one onboarding. One location with standard rules rarely needs more than that.

Questions that separate real Flare experience from guesswork

Delivery date projects break at the edges: public holidays, sold-out days, a courier that skips Saturdays. Hire the person who asks about those before quoting.

Share last December. Send daily order counts from your busiest month and your planned closures. A capable candidate sketches cut-off, blocked-date and capacity rules from that before naming a price.

Ask where the date ends up. They should know the app writes delivery and ship-date tags and attributes to the order, and explain how your pickers or 3PL will read them.

Plus stores: ask about checkout. Ask whether they have switched on the checkout date picker for another Plus store and what they tested before going live.

Subscription brands. Ask whether they have used the Recharge or Skio add-on, and how renewal orders were scheduled afterwards.

Pitches to push back on. Guaranteed carrier delivery days with no mention of transit estimates, or custom theme code for rules the app's settings already handle.

Pilot one zone. A small paid task: one delivery zone, one pickup location and your next holiday closure, set up and tested with three realistic orders.

Flare plan tiers, Plus checkout and add-ons

Free means development stores. As of October 2026 the free tier covers development stores only. Live stores start at $39 a month or $421 a year, and each paid plan has a 14-day trial.

Monthly sales set the plan. The $39 plan covers up to $40K in monthly sales, Advanced at $99 up to $100K and Precise at $199 up to $200K. Larger plans exist above that.

No Plus, no checkout picker. Elsewhere the picker runs on the product page, cart or drawer, and checkout validation can make a date mandatory.

Advanced is where the rules live. Unlimited zones and methods, rates and surcharges, product and customer rules, order limits, and dates on draft orders and Shopify POS.

Precise adds rescheduling. Customers can move their own delivery date, and the Flare API becomes available.

Add-ons are separate. Recharge, Skio, ShipStation, UPS and FedEx connections are integration add-ons on paid plans. The listing doesn't print their prices, so ask before you budget.

English-only listing. English is the only language named. If you sell in other languages, ask the vendor how picker labels get translated before you commit.

Delivery date scheduling with Flare: common questions

Do I need Shopify Plus to use Flare Delivery Date Picker?

Only for the picker inside checkout. On other Shopify plans, customers pick a date on the product page, cart or cart drawer, and checkout validation can stop undated orders. As of October 2026, the checkout version also needs the $99 Advanced plan or above.

What does a Flare setup cost with an expert?

The app runs $39, $99 or $199 a month as of October 2026, depending on monthly sales and features. Expert fees track the number of zones, locations and add-ons. Ask for a fixed price per scope, and check whether the Precise plan's own onboarding already covers part of it.

Can customers change their delivery date after ordering?

Self-service rescheduling is a Precise plan feature as of October 2026. On the lower plans, date changes go through your team, so decide who handles those requests and how customers should ask. An expert can build that into your order emails and help pages.

Will Flare work with my subscription app?

The listing offers Recharge and Skio integration add-ons on paid plans. Ask your expert to place a test subscription and check the renewal order before launch. With a different subscription app, ask the vendor first rather than assuming dates will carry over.

What should I send a Flare specialist first?

Your delivery zones or ZIP lists, the cut-off time for each weekday, closures for the next three months, daily capacity per location, your Shopify plan, and who ships the orders. Those details decide the Flare plan and most of the quote.
