Intelligems: A/B Testing

Intelligems Shopify Help: Price Tests, Shipping Tests and Offers

Intelligems is an A/B testing app for Shopify built around profit rather than conversion rate alone. It tests prices, discounts, shipping rates, content, themes, checkout content and post-purchase offers, and reports revenue, profit and COGS side by side for each experiment. As of October 2026, plans run from $69 a month for Smart Content to $349 for Unlimited and scale with sitewide order volume. See it on the App Store.

Launching a test needs no code. Price tests are where help pays off: when a test raises prices, Intelligems lifts Shopify prices to the highest test price while it runs, and that reaches Google Shopping, converted prices in other markets and any system that syncs prices.

If nobody in the listing below matches what you need, the A/B testing and analytics experts linked lower down handle the same setup.

Brief them with the decision the test should settle, your monthly order volume and the markets you sell in.

Intelligems work worth paying an outside expert for

The app makes a test easy to launch. The value of outside help is in deciding what to test, preparing the store for it, and reading the answer honestly.

Price tests with a decision attached. Which products, how many price points, and what result would make you change prices for good. Profit per visitor only means something if product costs in Shopify are right, so those get checked first.

Shipping experiments. Flat, weight-based and zone rates can all be tested, along with free-shipping thresholds. Choosing a threshold to test against your average order value and margin is the judgment call.

Offer tests. Percentage, fixed, volume and tiered discounts, quantity breaks and free gifts, plus upsells on the product page, cart and post-purchase. Checkout and post-purchase testing sits on the Unlimited plan.

Choosing the integration method. Most experiences run on Shopify Functions without duplicate products. Duplicates come in when Functions can't be used, for subscription products with selling plans, or when another app conflicts. The method decides what can run at the same time.

Reading results. Cross-checking the Intelligems readout against Google Analytics or session recordings before a price change goes live is analytics work, not app setup.

When the plan includes help. Unlimited comes with white-glove onboarding and a dedicated customer success manager. On that plan, hire outside for test strategy and analysis rather than setup.

Choosing an Intelligems consultant: questions that matter

Plenty of people can switch on a split test. Fewer have lived through a price test that touched feeds, markets and an ERP. These questions find out which kind you have.

Ask what Google Shopping shows during a price test. The right answer: the higher test price, because Intelligems raises Shopify prices to the top of the range when the experience starts. Tests that only lower prices leave Shopify prices alone.

Ask how they handle fixed market prices. Automatic currency conversion carries the higher prices into other currencies. Fixed per-market prices don't, so they need setting before launch.

Ask what ending a test does. Ending writes one group's prices into Shopify, and a price test can only be rolled out once, at that moment. Pausing without choosing to revert leaves the highest test price live.

Ask when they would stop the test. A good answer ties run time to your order volume and states the stopping rule before launch, not after a good week.

Answers that should worry you. A promised lift. A plan to run a price test and a theme test together without previewing each group on each theme. No question about who else edits your prices.

A scoped first experiment. Pay for one shipping-threshold or content test with a written hypothesis, a stopping rule and a results memo. It carries less risk than a price test and shows how they think.

Intelligems price test rules and limits to plan around

Test or personalization. A pricing experience runs as a test, splitting traffic between groups, or as a personalization showing one price to everyone or to an audience. Personalizations can only lower prices, change prices only in the default currency, skip duplicate and subscription products, and can't be combined with an offer.

Product cap. The default limit is 500 products per experience. Support can raise it.

No bundle price tests. Shopify allows one cart transform function per line item, so bundle products can't be price tested.

Shipping plus pricing. The two can't run together when the integration uses Shopify Functions with the Expand operation. The options are ending one, switching to the Update operation on Shopify Plus, or using duplicate products.

Outside price systems. If an ERP or another tool manages prices, it must use the same ceiling prices or it overwrites the test. Intelligems lets you download a price CSV from the experience.

Duplicate cleanup. Duplicate products are tagged price_test and unlisted, need excluding from sales channels by hand, and are archived 48 hours after the test ends.

Installments widget. The Shop Pay installments widget keeps showing amounts based on catalog prices. It can be hidden with the Visual Builder during a test.

Intelligems Shopify questions: pricing, setup and price tests

How is Intelligems pricing structured?

By feature set and order volume. As of October 2026, the listing shows Smart Content at $69 a month, Smart Merchandise and Smart Shipping at $112.10 each, and Unlimited at $349, which adds checkout and post-purchase tests, unlimited tests, onboarding and a dedicated success manager. All plans scale with sitewide order volume. The first three have a 14-day trial.

Do I need a developer to run Intelligems?

Not to launch a test: the app is no-code. A developer is useful when the app embed or script has to be confirmed on several themes, when duplicate products need excluding from channels, or when another app also changes prices or the cart and the two conflict.

Will an Intelligems price test change what Google Shopping shows?

Yes, if the test raises prices. Intelligems lifts Shopify prices to the highest price in the experience when it starts, and connected channels show that price. Tests that only lower prices don't touch Shopify prices. Time feed-sensitive campaigns around the test.

Can I price test subscription or bundle products?

Bundle products can't be price tested, because Shopify allows one cart transform function per line item. Subscription products with selling plans may need duplicate products, and personalizations don't support them at all. Intelligems says it works with subscription platforms, so check your setup with support first.

What should I send an Intelligems expert first?

The decision you want to make, monthly orders and sessions, product costs, and how your markets price in other currencies. List every app or system that edits prices, discounts or the cart, and say which plan you're on. That list decides the integration method.
