Ten countries only. TikTok Shop is open to sellers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan and Brazil. Confirm yours is on that list before paying anyone for TikTok Shop setup.
Support sits with TikTok. TikTok operates and supports TikTok Shop directly. Shopify Support won't resolve a Seller Center verification problem, so an expert who already knows TikTok's process spares you bouncing between two help desks.
Checkout and payouts are TikTok's. Checkout for TikTok Shop is powered by TikTok, and payouts go to the bank account connected in Seller Center. Reconcile those payouts separately from the rest of your Shopify sales, or your books won't match.
Transaction fees. TikTok Shop has charged a fee on qualified transactions since 16 April 2024, and the rate depends on your region. Get the current figure for your country from TikTok itself rather than from a pitch deck.
Inventory decides whether orders exist. When someone orders on TikTok Shop, TikTok checks Shopify inventory before creating the order. If Shopify shows nothing available, no order is created. That protects you from overselling, and it also means a wrong stock count quietly costs sales.
Returns stay in Seller Center. Refunds, returns and cancellations for TikTok Shop orders are processed in TikTok Seller Center, not Shopify. A good expert writes this down, so nobody on your team tries to refund a TikTok order from the Shopify admin.
