A switch to Surge is mostly a rebuild of your templates plus an app clean-up. Both reward care more than speed.
Getting it into Shopify. Themes bought outside the Theme Store are uploaded as a ZIP file, or connected by a developer through Shopify's GitHub integration or Shopify CLI. Rebuilding the homepage, product and collection templates in Surge's blocks is the bulk of the job.
Retiring overlapping apps. Each app the theme might replace needs checking: what it does on your product page or cart, what data it holds, and whether Surge's block covers the same ground.
Review syncing. Version 1.2.0, released in February 2026, added review syncing from two review platforms. Someone has to connect your account and check how reviews display.
Navigation and image ratios. Version 1.1.0 added a mega menu and image aspect ratio controls, alongside a product page and cart rebuild. Setting both up properly keeps collection grids tidy.
Sections Surge doesn't ship. ConversionWise describes the code as clean for developers. Anything the blocks don't cover becomes a custom section.
Edits versus the updater. A one-click updater sends every new release to your store automatically. The site doesn't say how edited files are treated, so confirm with ConversionWise before changing theme code.
CRO questions go to ConversionWise. Members get weekly live CRO sessions, video guides and documentation. Use those before paying for advice on layout choices.
