Find the Best Shopify Experts in Ireland

Getting a Shopify store trading in Ireland is mostly configuration, not engineering. Shopify Payments pays out in euro, the admin and checkout run in English, and Shopify Tax is available for EU VAT. What Shopify won't do is file that VAT for you, or market the store once it's live.

Thirteen Shopify experts in Ireland have a profile on shopexperts as of October 2026: 10 agencies and 3 freelancers, working from Dublin and Dundalk. Twelve of them offer store setup and management, and nine also sell marketing and growth work, so one team can carry you from launch into the months after it.

The Irish profiles come first below, followed by experts elsewhere in Europe. Shortlist two or three and send each one the same brief.

Ireland's 13: agencies first, marketing close behind

Mostly agencies. Ten of the 13 experts based in Ireland are agencies, against 3 freelancers. That suits a merchant who wants build, marketing and support under one contract. For a single theme fix or a product import, one of the three freelancers will usually be quicker to brief, and you'll speak to the person doing the work.

Setup and marketing lead. Store Setup & Management appears on 12 profiles and Marketing & Growth on 9. Shopify Development is listed by 7, and Consulting & Strategy and Design, UX & Branding by 4 each. Operations and copywriting each appear on a single profile, so if fulfilment or product copy is the real problem, plan to look beyond Ireland.

English is the working language. Twelve of the 13 list English. Russian, Turkish, Dutch and French appear once each, which helps if you sell into the Netherlands or France and want translated pages checked by a native reader. Nobody on the Irish list names Irish as a language.

Dublin or Dundalk. No Irish profile gives another base. A merchant in Cork or Galway will work remotely with any of the 13.

Below the Irish profiles. Experts based in Ireland appear first. Further down, the page adds experts based outside Ireland who also serve merchants across Europe. Use that second group if you need operations, fulfilment or more development capacity than the Irish list offers.

What Irish Shopify experts charge to start

Eleven of the 13 experts based in Ireland list a starting price. The tiles below use those figures, in USD and dated October 2026; Irish profiles with a zero price aren't counted.

Middle half of starting prices

$175 – $4,375

Half of the published Irish prices fall here

Median starting price

$2,500

Half list less, half list more

Top quarter of listed prices

$4,375 – $7,500

The upper end of the 11 Irish prices

A starting price tells you the floor an expert works from, not what your project will cost. Half of the Irish experts who publish a price start at $2,500 or more, yet a quarter start at $175 or less. Check which end your job belongs to before you brief anyone.

What moves the price. Catalogue size, a migration from another platform, how many countries and currencies you sell in, and how much marketing is in scope. For quotes you can line up side by side, send every expert the same brief: product count, current platform, target markets, the apps you can't lose, and a launch date.

Getting an Irish store ready to trade on Shopify

Payments in euro. Shopify Payments covers stores based in Ireland, with every payout made in euro. Your expert should set it up as the main gateway, since Tap to Pay on Shopify POS won't work without it.

In-person sales. Shopify sells POS hardware directly to Irish merchants through its hardware store, and in Ireland, Tap to Pay runs on both iPhone and Android phones with Shopify POS, enough for a Dublin market stall. If you run a shop as well as a website, ask your expert to link POS stock to the online catalogue before you open the doors.

Shopify Capital. Eligible businesses based in Ireland can be offered Shopify Capital. It isn't part of a build, but it's worth knowing about before you finance a rebuild some other way.

VAT. An Irish store opening now has two tax options: Shopify Tax or Manual Tax. Basic Tax survives only for stores configured for EU tax collection before 13 May 2026, and the EU's One-Stop Shop (Union OSS) only works through Shopify Tax or Basic Tax. Shopify does not file or remit VAT, so a good expert leaves you with settings and reports your accountant can work from. VAT setup specialists take this on as a stand-alone job.

English, not Irish. The admin and checkout are available in English, but Shopify provides no Irish translation for either. A brand that wants Irish on its product pages can write them itself; an Irish-language checkout falls outside Shopify's built-in languages, and your expert should scope that before quoting.

Irish merchants' questions on agencies, VAT and design

Should an Irish store hire an agency or one of the three freelancers?

Agencies make up 10 of the 13 experts based in Ireland, so they dominate the list, but the right choice depends on the job. A full launch with ongoing marketing suits an agency. A defined task with a clear finish, such as a theme change or a speed fix, often suits a freelancer better and costs less to manage. Check who will actually do the work before you weigh one proposal against another.

Where can I find custom Shopify web design in Ireland?

Design, UX & Branding appears on 4 of the 13 Irish profiles, well behind store setup and marketing. For a standard theme that's no problem: most setup experts can install and customise a premium theme competently. For a brand identity built from scratch or a fully custom theme, read those four profiles first, then widen to designers based elsewhere in Europe further down the listing.

Is it worth hiring a Shopify expert in Dublin specifically?

Only if you need someone on site. A Dublin-based expert earns their keep on a shop fit-out with POS, or on a day of in-person staff training. For an online-only store, judge experts on the stores they've launched in euro, not on their address. Most of the work happens in the admin and on video calls either way, wherever the expert sits.

Shopify Tax or Manual Tax: which suits a small Irish store?

Shopify Tax, for most. Once you ship to buyers elsewhere in the EU and report through OSS, Manual Tax is off the table. Manual Tax only makes sense for a store selling in Ireland alone that wants to set every rate itself. Either way, settle it with your accountant before going live, because they'll be filing from whatever the store records.

Can a UK-based expert set up my Irish store?

Yes, and the listing below includes experts based in the UK who work with European merchants. Check one thing above all: that they've set up a store for an EU business. An Irish store pays out in euro, where a UK store is paid in pounds, and it runs on Shopify's EU VAT set-up, including the One-Stop Shop if your accountant uses it. Then ask to see an Irish or other EU store they've launched.
