A wholesale channel fails in boring ways. A trade buyer sees retail prices because their account was never given a price list. A rep places an order nobody in the warehouse can find. A good SparkLayer expert sorts the data first and only then touches the storefront.
Pricing and ordering rules. SparkLayer handles unlimited customer-specific price lists plus tier and volume rules, and it attaches pack sizes and ordering rules to products by SKU. So SKU hygiene comes first: a blank or duplicated SKU can break the link between a product and its trade terms.
Trade sign-up. Building the registration form, setting the approval workflow, and importing existing wholesale accounts with the right price list attached from day one.
Reps and quotes. Configuring the sales rep portal so reps can order for their accounts and manage them, and setting up the quoting engine so a negotiated quote turns into an order without retyping.
Theme fit. SparkLayer works on Online Store 2.0 themes and with both versions of Shopify customer accounts. Experts style its widgets so trade buyers don't feel they've landed on another site.
Back-office sync. Pushing price lists, customers and orders from an ERP or integration platform through SparkLayer's REST API, or connecting one of the accounting and inventory systems named on its App Store page.
The native B2B call. Part of this work is advising against SparkLayer, or moving a store between SparkLayer and Shopify's built-in B2B. Since Shopify opened core B2B features to more plans in April 2026, that conversation belongs at the start of every SparkLayer project.
