MultiVariants Shopify Help: Bulk Order Tables and Wholesale Rules

MultiVariants puts a variant table on a Shopify product page, so a buyer can enter quantities for every color and size and add them all to the cart in one click. Built by EFOLI and on the App Store since September 2020, it lists support for 2,048 variants on its free plan, with wholesale rules such as minimums, case packs and login restrictions on paid plans. View the App Store listing.

The table itself goes in quickly. Experts are hired for the rule set behind it: which minimums apply per variant or per order, how quantity steps match your packaging, which customers see trade pricing, and how the table fits a customized product template.

As of October 2026, 6 experts carry the MultiVariants badge on shopexperts: 2 agencies and 4 freelancers, based in Argentina, Canada, Hong Kong, Kenya, Nepal and Pakistan.

Write your MOQs and case-pack sizes into one spreadsheet before the first call.

MultiVariants jobs worth handing to a specialist

Turning the table on is quick. Making it enforce your trade terms correctly is the part worth paying for.

Trade terms as rules. Per-variant minimums, a combined total across variants, a minimum per option such as 12 in red, and a minimum or maximum number of variants per order. Most of these sit on the Professional plan, so the rule list also settles the plan.

Case-pack steps. Incremental quantities so buyers order in multiples, such as 12 to 60 in steps of 12, matching how stock is boxed in the warehouse.

Build-your-own cases. Mix-and-match lets a buyer fill a box from different variants, with a running count toward the required total. Someone has to choose which variants qualify and test the box on a phone.

Trade-only pricing. B2B catalog pricing, customer eligibility, login restrictions and a cart minimum come with the Standard plan. Set eligibility wrong and retail shoppers see trade prices. Wholesale and B2B experts plan this side.

Fitting a custom template. Choosing table, grid, list or matrix, then fitting it into a heavily edited product page. Theme customization experts handle the styling.

Per-line personalization. Custom product options and file uploads, on Professional, for orders that carry a logo or a note per line.

Vendor setup calls. MultiVariants offers guided setup over a live call with screen share. For one product and a plain table, that is usually enough.

Questions that test a bulk order specialist

A good candidate starts with your trade terms, not the table design. Use these questions on a first call.

Ask them to restate your rules. Send your price list and minimums. A strong candidate maps each rule to a plan feature and flags anything the app can't do before quoting.

Ask which plan your rules require. They should know that per-variant limits, quantity steps and custom options sit on Professional, while extra layouts, B2B pricing and cart minimums arrive on Standard.

Ask how they will test the limits. Expect test orders that try to break each rule on desktop and mobile: under the minimum, off the case-pack step, over the maximum.

Ask about mixed audiences. If you sell to retail and trade on one store, they should show how each customer type sees the product page, using a test account for each.

Replies that warrant caution. Calling it a five-minute job for a catalog with dozens of rules, or never asking which theme you run.

A one-product trial. Your hardest rule, built on one product on a duplicate theme and signed off before the rest of the catalog.

What each MultiVariants plan adds

Free covers the table. As of October 2026 the free Starter plan includes variant listing, single-click bulk ordering, inventory tracking, support for 2,048 variants and email support.

Standard adds the trade layer. $12.99 a month or $124.70 a year: B2B catalog pricing, list, grid and matrix layouts, cart minimums, login restrictions and 24/7 live chat.

Professional adds the detailed rules. $29.99 a month or $287.90 a year: min and max per variant, incremental and bundle quantities, custom options with file upload, and a min or max cart value per product. Both paid plans carry a 14-day free trial.

Stock display is on every plan. Live inventory, out-of-stock badges and the option to hide sold-out variants are included free.

Themes and page builders. The vendor says the app works with any theme and lists three page builders it supports. Confirm yours is on that list before a build starts.

Broad permissions. The listing requests customer data, including names, emails, phone numbers and addresses, plus edit access to products, inventory, orders and Online Store settings. Clear that with whoever owns data compliance.

Admin in 15 languages. The listing names 15, among them German, Japanese and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

MultiVariants FAQs: discounts, developers and switching

Can MultiVariants apply volume discounts to bulk orders?

Yes, through a companion app. The listing names volume discounts via DiscountRay, a separate quantity discount app, as a Standard plan feature. Check how its tiers combine with any B2B catalog pricing before launch, and place a test order at each tier so you see the price a buyer will actually pay.

Do I need a developer to set up MultiVariants?

Not for a standard table. The vendor describes setup as no-code and offers guided setup over a live call. A developer is worth it for heavily customized product templates, page builder layouts, or a catalog where dozens of products carry different minimums and steps.

Can one store serve retail and wholesale buyers with MultiVariants?

The Standard plan adds customer eligibility, login restrictions and B2B catalog pricing, which are the settings that separate trade buyers from retail shoppers. Have your expert demonstrate both views with a test account each before launch. Our Shopify B2B and wholesale guide covers the wider setup.

How do I switch to MultiVariants from another bulk order app?

The listing doesn't describe an import tool, so plan to rebuild tables and rules. Export your current rules into a spreadsheet, rebuild them on a duplicate theme, and test. Then remove the old app's blocks and leftover code so buyers never see two tables on one page.

Can buyers personalize items in a MultiVariants order?

On the Professional plan, yes. It adds custom product options and file upload, so a buyer can attach artwork or add a name to the order. Decide which products allow it and what file types you accept, and check that the details reach your fulfillment team intact.
